Nordea, the largest financial services group in the Nordic region has signed a partnership agreement with Helsinki Fintech Farm, the fintech hub and leading digital finance innovation platform in Helsinki.
Fintech Farm works to bridge the gap between banks and fintech companies by matchmaking, acceleration and research services. It is also part of the Nordic Fintech Alliance, together with other financial technology hubs from Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
“We are excited about this partnership. I see that we will both help Nordea to source interesting startups from the fintech network we are operating, but also that Nordea will bring significant value to our fintechs with their great resources” says Janne Salminen who is heading Helsinki Fintech Farm.
Nordea has also been partnering with other fintech hubs in the Nordics.
“Our partnership with Helsinki Fintech Farm builds on our existing network of relationships across the Nordic region. We are looking forward to working closely with the Helsinki Fintech Farm team to contribute toward the development of the local Fintech ecosystem in Finland” explains Nordea’s Chief Digital Officer, Ewan MacLeod.
The partnership was announced in Future Digital Finance Forum in Helsinki on 24.-25.4.2019, where Nordea’s Dorthe Dupont and Liisa Kanniainen were on stage.
Fintech Farm will be publishing Helsinki Fintech Guide, a handbook to the Finnish fintech ecosystem on June 10th, and the launch event will be held at Nordea’s premises in Vallila, Helsinki. Read more here.
