The Helsinki Fintech Open Tennis Tournament returned this year for its third edition. As in previous years, the event was hosted by the Bank of Finland, and once again their seaside estate in Ramsinniemi offered the perfect setting. With two clay courts and the Baltic Sea in the background, the day combined sport, networking and a relaxed atmosphere.
The tournament was played in a 2 vs 2 Americano format, which kept the pace lively and gave everyone plenty of time on court. This year there were 22 players, joined by around 30 guests who came to enjoy the day, meet colleagues and cheer for the matches.
After several competitive rounds, the final featured Kristian Karlsson from Dittmar & Indrenius, Kaj Keinänen from Santander, Tuomas Autero from Revolut, and Juuso Lehto from Solita. In the end, Kaj Keinänen took the title and received the perpetual trophy from last year’s champion, Juha Sillanpää from Visa.
We also introduced a new award this year. Instead of going to the winner, it was given to someone who has been a fun, valuable and persistent player. The recognition went to Eeva von Bonsdorff from Citi, who has joined the tournament every year since the beginning. Her prize was a tongue-in-cheek “financial analyst uniform” – a Patagonia vest with the Fintech Open logo.
Beyond the competition, the day was all about collaboration and connections. Guests enjoyed the Bank of Finland’s seaside sauna and conversation after the games. The weather was warm and sunny, with just enough wind to make play a little more challenging.
The Helsinki Fintech Open has grown into a tradition, not only as a tennis tournament but as a meeting place where the fintech and banking community can connect in an informal setting.
A warm thank you to the Bank of Finland for once again hosting us.
See you in 2026.
