Nordic Fintech Highlights – November 2025

Nordic Fintech Highlights – November

November is now wrapped up, and it was a full month for the Nordic fintech scene. Web Summit, Slush, new partnerships, funding news and even one new Nordic fintech unicorn.

This is also a good moment to share how we see Nordic Fintech Highlights evolving. The Highlights lives throughout the year through monthly reports, the podcast and other content, following the companies and developments shaping the industry. We are gearing up to produce even more timely updates, and in the spring the Highlights will take a more visible form at our flagship event, the Nordic Fintech Summit.

Next May we will have a dedicated Highlights stage, where we bring on stage the most interesting companies and cases from across the Nordic fintech industry.

So, what are you waiting for. Save the date. The Nordic Fintech Summit takes place on 20–22 May 2026, and it will be our strongest edition yet.

November updates

In terms of the number of announcements, November was quieter than previous months, but the news that did surface was significant and worth following closely.

Funding
Flatpay secured 170 million USD in Series C funding at a 1.7 billion USD valuation, officially joining the Nordic unicorn club. Denmark also delivered two smaller but interesting rounds: Sumary raised 4.2 million USD in pre-seed funding, and Contribe announced a new capital injection to support its growth plans.

Partnerships
Klarna dominated the partnership news again, teaming up with Marqeta to launch a card in 15 new European markets. Vipps MobilePay added Klarna as a payment option in its wallet and also confirmed its participation in the EuroPA cross-border payments scheme. Enfuce teamed up with Swile to support its growth in Latin America.

Banks
On the banking side, DNB extended its collaboration with Tietoevry Banking to modernise its payment infrastructure. In Finland, Alisa Bank partnered with Sweden’s Bits Technology to strengthen its compliant onboarding processes.
