Today, as part of the World Fintech Festival in Finland, Helsinki Fintech Farm organized the third Revolutionary Fintech of the Year final, to identify the most visionary and scalable Finnish fintech company for 2020. The past winners have been Enfuce and P3 Cloudasset, which have both seen incredible growth following their respective wins.
The search for candidates launched this year in October when we opened a survey for anyone to nominate their favorite fintech company. Following this nomination period, we chose the five companies that had received the largest number of votes as our finalists. The finalist companies were ReceiptHero, ROI Financial Technologies, Tomorrow Tech, Valega Chain Analytics and Voima Gold. You can read more about the companies here.
During the World Fintech Festival in Finland event, all the finalist companies pitched to the audience and to our group of judges. This year our esteemed judges were Riikka Salminen (Country Manager Sweden, Finland & the Baltics at Visa), Toby Lywood (Investor at Oxx) and André Rhodin (Managing Director, Sweden & Head of Startups Nordics at BNP Paribas).
Overall, the process to choose the winner was apparently exceptionally hard this year as the judges “were superbly impressed by the quality” as Riikka Salminen elaborated in her speech to introduce the winner. However, one company shone through, and after a round of voting and further discussing, the judges concluded that “the winner’s ability to catch the market and do something nobody else has done before, at least in Finland” merits them to title.
Therefore, without further ado, we would like to congratulate the winner of 2020 – Tomorrow Tech! Tomorrow Tech is a company full of makers of tomorrow, creating new digital products. Their main product DIAS, is a digital trading platform for the residential real estate market and it is based on distributed ledger technology. DIAS has been built together with financial institutions and government officials and already one-fifth of real estate sales is completed fully digitally thanks to them.
