June in brief

Let’s delve into the exciting developments in fintech and finance across the Nordics during the month of June. While there won’t be a separate podcast episode this June, we’ll be sure to provide a comprehensive summary after the summer break.

In terms of funding, AlphaSense stole the spotlight with an impressive $650 million round, setting a new record in Finnish fintech history and the Nordic region for the past two years.

ESG & Impact continues to reign as the top category for the second consecutive month.

June saw a flurry of partnerships centered around cards.
Enfuce made significant strides with its Card as a Service, forging three new partnerships.

On the banking front, Danske Bank made headlines by integrating sustainable investment insights into its mobile app. Handelsbanken opted to enhance its customer engagement by teaming up with digital banking solutions provider Meniga to offer personalized financial insights.

Norwegian-based Lea Bank successfully obtained a banking license in Norway, while Swedish owner banks of Bankgirot are under pressure to meet the requirements of the EU’s Wire Transfer Regulation by the end of 2026.
