Nordic Fintech Snippets – November 2020
We are currently balancing between the optimism in vaccine development and the pessimism of increased infections. Yet, the crisis has accelerated certain developments, and we have seen new launches both from traditional banks as well as from fintech companies. If anything, the number of news Nordics produce each month seems to grow, with businesses learning to operate in this new environment.
While Nordics have for long been forerunners in digital banking, innovation is taking place around the globe and we have to work hard to keep our banking services among the best. The recent launch of the new Google Pay gave everyone a message that BigTech in banking will be reality in the West as well.
Despite the challenges of 2020, in the Nordics we surely have some spirit left in us, and we clearly are best, when working together. Our highlights section this month gives some insight into what collaboration and doing together can be: from Mastercard Lighthouse and the impressive solutions witnessed there, to World Fintech Festival’s Nordic side-events, we have a lot to offer. We encourage everyone to stay safe and stay connected virtually – by attending the coming Nordic events.
This is Nordic Fintech Snippets, the combined effort of all the Nordic Fintech Hubs, sharing the most important and latest news in fintech and digital finance from each country.
